Internet Addiction

Hello everyone. It has been a long time since I posted here. I find it difficult  to do so with the lack of internet connection at my home. I had a phone with internet connections but my phone's browser won't allow me to type anything over 1000 characters which makes it hard for me to post anything using my phone. In addition to that, typing a lot of stuff using my phone is hard with the small keypad and screen. I am thinking of buying a new one but I don't want to waste my money. Now I am hoping that I am able to earn about U$D800 online to buy myself a new 3g pda but that seems to be a very far goal. Up until now, I have only earned about $2.00 from this blog and the other money making programs that I have joined only accumulate to about $3.00. It seems like I am taking forever to reach U$D 800.

Ok, back to the subject. I am addicted to the internet and I really wanted to update my blog so I brought my laptop everywhere I go hoping thay I could connect to a public hotspot. Unfortuately there seems to be no public hotspots wherever I go. It is always either that the hotspot is password protected or it is too far from me; it is hard to find parking.

Finally I got fed up and went to a restaurant to connect to their hotspot. Now I am sitting here drinking just a cup of Milo while I surfed the web. According to the rules, only customers of the restaurant are allowed to use their internet so I simply ordered a cup of Milo but the waitress seems to be unhappy with it. Well, I wouldn't blame her. I would be unhappy too if I opened a restaurant and my customers just ordered a drink but surfed the web using my internet connction for an hour. Thats it for now, I have to leave now or the waitress might hit me with a broom. LOL...

Yippee!!! Freedom!!! Good ridens slavery.

Yesterday was my last day as an accountant. I finally freed myself from the clutches of that enslaving company. Well, not really, I still need to go back and train the new accountant but it is still better than being forced to work like a slave.

I was very happy that I don't need to face the pile of work this morning but my happiness was a short lasting one. Just as I was in the middle of enjoying a stress free morning, the temporary accountant messaged me about a problem. You would think that someone who has more experience in business matters would know how to deal with simple problems but no, she had to ask me how to solve it. I guess it won't be long before my employer calls me again. I wouldn't mind if I was getting paid but I am not. Sigh.

Overall, my first day of unemployment is ok. Its always nice to have a break from a long period of work. Too bad this won't last because my university class starts next month.

Hello, I am back!!

Sorry for the long absence. I was busy with a course since May and my employer has been flooding me with work the minute I came back from my leave. I spent about three weeks re-doing most of the accounts from 2007 until now.
I have 2 news to tell all of you. One is that I am going to resign soon which means I can finally get rid of this headache for good. The other is that school is going to start and I will not be able to post as frequent as I did last time, but I will try to post at least once a week.

Speaking of my work, I really hated it because my employer is making me work like a slave. The company pays me $500 a month to do all their accounting work. That amount of pay is reasonable to me if I only need to do this year's accounts. Instead, they want me to do last year's accounts too. Now, reading until here you would probably ask me why would I still work there for half a year. The reason is because this job was the highest paying one before I started working. After a week, another company called me and offered to pay me more but I rejected them because I had promised my employer that I would work for them for at least 6 months.

Even more frustrating is my pay for June is only $250. I know I should be paid that much when I only work for about 15 days but the company usually pays me full even when I take leaves. I remember they paid me full the last time I took a one week leave. I think they don't want to waste that money because I am leaving them soon. Tell me, how many of you out there would like to be paid $250 but have to do one and a half years of accounting work...
I doubt anyone would do so. Unless you are really that desperate for money.

After all the expenses have been cut of, I barely have enough money for this week's budget. It's lucky I have a second job or I won't have any money to pay for this month's expenses.
Well, thats it for now. See you soon...

Here is another joke I received from my friends:

A Japanese man was in a hurry to go to the KLIA airport, so he took a Proton taxi. The taxi driver took his sweet time driving within the speed limit but the Jap was getting impatient.

The following is their conversation on the way to the airport . A Toyota Camry overtook the taxi.....zoom....

Jap: Look ...look ... Toyota !! ...very fast!!!.... made in Japan!Proton...no good.... made in Malaysia .

Driver: yah....

After a few minutes a Nissan overtook the taxi....zoom.

Jap: look.... look.... Nissan!!!..... very good!! very fast! made in Japan! Proton.... no good.... made in Malaysia

Driver: yah....yah...

After a few minutes a Honda overtook the taxi...zooom. !

Jap: look.... look... Honda!!.... very GOOD!!....very fast!  ....made in Japan! Proton...no good...made in Malaysia..

Driver: yah...yah...yah....!

Arriving at the airport, the Jap is about to pay the taxi driver.

Jap: How much?

Driver: RM150/-

Jap: Oh... very expensive..... you overcharge ! !

Driver: Noooo .... look .... look .... Sony meter!!....very good!!.... very fast!.... Made in Japan!

Uncontacted tribes in Brazil

This news caught my attention last night. It was about people who are still untouhed by our modern civilisation. Here are some pictures I found on BBC news' website:

According to the news I saw last night, these tribesmen were running frantically when a helicopter first flew past that area. But when the pilot returned, some of the tribesmen started to shoot arrows at him, as shown in the picture above. This clearly showed that they have not been in touch with the outside. (everyone knows that your average bow and arrow cannot penetrate a helicopter) I guess they must have thought that the helicopter were monsters.

Scary Documentary..

Most of you would never have thought that documentaries could be scary. In fact, it seems to bore most people to sleep. I regularly watch documentaries and my siblings always complain that it is boring. I enjoy watching them because they satisfy my curious nature and I learn a lot of things from them. I even know how to make explosives but only harmless ones. I think the broadcast station doesn't want to be blamed for nurturing terrorists. But not all of them are interesting such as the documentary about the world war. And the one I saw last week was really scary.

I think the title of the documentary was: "The Most Extreme: Top 10 Vampires". As the name suggested, the documentary is about nature's top 10 most amazing Vampires. The documentary had a very interesting start; it was about bloodsucking butterflies and Vampire bats. Has this startled you too? I am not bluffing. They do exist. I can't remember the name of the bloodsucking butterfly but I did a web search, unfortunately I could not find anything related to it. The only result Google gave was about a Vampire Moth named: calyptra thalictriis. It looked different from the bloodsucking butterfly I saw in the documentary and their facts are very different too. For example, the bloodsucking butterfly only suck the blood of carcases whereas the vampire moth sucks blood of living victims including Humans. There is even a youtube video of it. All you need to do is just Google for "bloodsucking butterfly" and the video will appear as the first result of the list.
Next, its the Vampire Bat. They really exist but they are not like Dracula in the movies. Yes, they do drink blood but instead of sucking it out of the victims, they lick it of the victims but they had to pierce into the victim's flesh first using its very sharp incisors. I am not sure if they drink human bloods but I know that they usually feed on animals including livestocks. And in one of the footage in the documentary was the Vampire Bat licking blood from a chicken's backside. (Eeeee...disgusting). So have I interested you into watching the documentary? By now you would be thinking that it is nothing compared to the horror movies, right? And that you have seen even scarier movies? Well you are not wrong. But don't jump to conclusions so quickly.

The last 5 creepy crawlies are the scariest of them all. They include: Ticks, bed bugs, assassin bugs and leeches. (I can't remember the one other insect that was in it) Did you know that they use leeches to treat some health problems? Apparently they were used to remove excess blood from swelled up tissues after surgeries so that the wound would heal quicker and to prevent poisoning the tissue due to the accumulation of toxic substances. Watching them suck blood out of the patient's arm is so irritating that I felt as if my arms were being bitten by the leech. Still doesn't scare you? well how about the assassin bugs and bed bugs? They are creepy because they hide in your bedroom, near your bed or even on your bed and suck your blood when you are asleep and the bed bug can drink many times its body size. Creepy isn't it. The worse things about them is that they can hide and survive for a long time without blood before finally crawling out, taunted out by the very inviting smell of carbon dioxide from our breath. Up until then, I thought that bed bugs were just ordinary bugs but the fact that they suck blood send chills down my spine.

The most scary of all was the tick. They can suck an unbelievably large amount of blood and are very hard to be rid off. If I am not mistaken, they can swell up to 18 times their original size. When they are full, they are almost as big as a ten cent coin but many times fatter than the coin. One of the scenes in the documentary showed the tick sucking blood from a person until it becomes very very large and finally fall off. And in another scene, the tick was shown to form colonies on the ears of animals such as Lions. It looked a lot like earrings except that they are ticks and there seems to be about 20 of them hanging on each of the lion's ear. According to the documentary, the ticks even secrete a cement like substance that bonds them to the host very tightly and this cement is only dissolved by the tick after it has filled itself up. Even scarier is that the ticks can survive almost everywhere and can multiply extremely quickly. To intensify the fear is that the documentary was shown at night, just before I went to bed and I was alone, watching it.

Ticks:ticks

I had a hard time falling asleep after watching that documentary. I still get goosebumps as I type this post and the hairs on my back of my neck is standing. Now do you still want to watch this documentary? It is scary to me because they are real things that could happen to anyone. Movies are mostly fiction and knowing that makes it less scary.
